Provençal fritillary
Female has variable ground-colour. Black discal mark in s1b resembles a dumb-bell (you need imagination!)
Same specimen as shown on the left.
Identical to nominate form (M d deione) shown in Collins field-guide, even black lunule in s2 of upperwing.
Palpi are yellow (ringed picture).
Yellow palpi.
Central band does not contrast with adjacent marks, so not Grison's.
