Well-spread wings. Both sexes show white at the ends of the wing-spots.
The female has quite a chunky abdomen.

Segment 2 of the male is bi-coloured: about two-thirds blue, the rest green.
(s2 is all blue on emerald damselfly).
s1, s8 & s9 also show blue pruinescence.
This species (and emerald) normally sit with their wings spread.
